There’s a nice feature over at Graniph Labs, did a series of tees with them a couple of years back and hope to do some more soon.

This is great going thru all my old files, found a bunch of pictures from the Pop which was an exhibition of gig poster art. I had around 10 pieces displayed, lots of ColdRice posters. For all the colours and painstaking hours I spent on some of the ColdRice posters, my favourite was always this Weird War poster I made which took about 10 minutes. Always the way isn’t it?

Yeeeears ago Levi’s comissioned me and my buddy Stef to do an instore painting at the opening of one of their stores. I decided denim, rock n’ roll, so I did a portrait of a girl who wants to be Iggy Pop and we surrounded it with printed confessions from groupies.

More dust bunnies! A ruck of rough concept sketches for the cover of Segas Bayonetta.

More stuff I’ve found under my hard drives cushions while I was spring cleaning, this was something I worked on with frequent collaborators Fluid Design for Sega’s Mad World. We needed a handful of sketched front cover concepts and as the game has a very specific look I couldn’t really stray too far so just lots black & white with blood and anger. Fun!

Been having a spring clean of my hard drives and found lots of stuff that i forgot I had done so I’m going on a posting frenzy over the next couple of days.
Thinking maybe I should do a poster section in my portfolio, because of ColdRice I have built up quite a collection over the years. Here’s one I did for my friends Jon and Matt when they played my fair city, they loved it so much I had to rearrange the design to incorporate all the tour dates so they could use it as a tour poster but I don’t seem to have that version lying around anywhere. Anyway, listen to me grandpa-ing on, here’s the illustration and the finished poster too.

My buddy Adam called me up one morning saying he needed a logo for his band, I came up with this and he loved it. Whole project from start to finish took around 1 hour, including phone calls. My favourite kind of project.

Poster for Solid Soul Disciples tour of Brazil. Love Brazil. And I’m in 2 of those bands. So i will get to love it all over again for 3 weeks.

All the portfolios were broken so it forced me to finally upload some stuff in the promo & design section.
One of my favourite things to work on in the last year was a comic book and front cover illustration for Sega’s House Of The Dead: Overkill game. I collaborated with Fluid Design who provided the overall look and feel, all the design elements and even wrote and lettered the comic book! They did an amazing job, in my opinion, and you should go and check their website after you’ve had a mooch thru the stuff on Newtasty.
